OUR PUB IS STEEPED IN HISTORY

WE'RE PROUD TO BE PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

COME & JOIN US FOR FOOD & DRINKS

Nestled in the picturesque village of Pensax, Worcestershire, The Bell Inn has been a cornerstone of the
community since the 1800s.

OUR ARCHITECTURE

Built in 1883 under the design of architect John Joseph Jones, The Bell Inn showcases a distinctive brick and mock-Tudor façade. Notably, our main inn sign features a bell cast in 1886 at Loughborough, originally intended for the bell-tower at Abberley Hall.

OUR HISTORY

In the late 19th century, The Bell Inn was the hub of the local community and features heavily in local references throughout the 1800s and 1900s. From hosting May Pole dances to special events, The Bell Inn has always been an integral part of the area for locals and visitors alike.

OUR HERITAGE

Up until 1980, The Bell Inn operated with a rare ‘parlour bar’ system. Patrons would be served through a hatch in a three-bay
screen. This unique feature, along with other historical elements, has been preserved to maintain the authentic charm
of our establishment.

OUR COMMUNITY

In October 2022, The Bell Inn faced closure, prompting the local community to rally together in an effort to save this cherished establishment. A campaign was launched for a community-run venture which show how important The Bell Inn is
to everyone in Pensax.

OUR NEW CHAPTER

Purchased in March 2024 by a local and her sister, The Bell Inn went through extensive renovation work. The sibling duo undertook the work to breathe new life into this fantastic, historic, community pub, so that it can be enjoyed for many more generations to come. After opening our doors in May 2024, we look forward to welcoming you too.
